Question 1

What is sebastians.in?

Accepted Answer

sebastians.in is the personal workbench of Sebastian Thomas — a hub for side projects and hobby tools he builds and runs from Riyadh, mostly by vibe coding with Claude Code. Current tools include an AI job scout, a live Gulf strikes map, a Netherlands tech-jobs market report (TechJar) and a YouTube summariser.

Question 2

What does the AI job scout do?

Accepted Answer

The job scout watches LinkedIn and other job boards for roles that fit your profile, scores each one, researches the hiring company and drafts a personalised cover letter and CV in your voice. Nothing is sent until you approve it — it is a drafting assistant, not an auto-applier.

Question 3

What does the Gulf strikes map show?

Accepted Answer

A live interactive map of missile strikes, drone attacks and military operations across 11 countries in the Persian Gulf and Middle East — Iran, Israel, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon. Each marker shows the location, weapon type, likely origin and an intelligence summary. A breaking-news ticker surfaces the latest headlines from X and major outlets.

Question 4

What is TechJar?

Accepted Answer

TechJar (techjobsradar.nl) is a job search focused on the Netherlands tech market, with filters for language, visa sponsorship and remote work, plus a weekly market report of the skills, titles and companies hiring most. Built by Shreya Sebastian.

Question 5

What is vibe coding?

Accepted Answer

Vibe coding is a term for building software by conversing with a large language model — in this case Anthropic's Claude Code — describing what you want and iterating on what the model produces. Every tool on sebastians.in was built this way; the stack is mostly Node.js, Python, FastAPI, Express and PostgreSQL.

Question 6

Who built this?

Accepted Answer

Sebastian Thomas, a software engineer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. These are personal projects — hobby tools built in the evenings and weekends, not commercial products. Hobbies that leak into the projects include open-source intelligence (OSINT), algorithmic trading, data journalism and anything that benefits from a clean dashboard.
